Where is Episode 2?

Hola internet friends! Director and co-creator of the Webseries ‘The Dirty Do Gooders’ here. I want to talk with you all about episode 2 and when it will be coming your way!

*the crowd goes wild* But just so you know, I don’t have a release date *pelted with tomatoes*

Ladies and gentlemen, fruits and vegetables, I am more than what is considered to be a socially expected level of grateful to all of you who have watched and enjoyed The Dirty Do Gooders thus far. We have already released our first episode ‘slash’ pilot and introduction to the characters, in seven six minute chunks starting on Christmas day of last year. To our wonderment the show has been viewed favorably, all toilet humor and crass language aside, a story is there that people want to see, and we think that is pretty damn cool. We have also seen a mass of ‘WHERE BE EPISODE 2 YE SALTY DOGS!” comments and that sort of thing, you damn pirates… why’d it have to be pirates!

Well, I talked with my heterosexual life mate and co-creator Ethan Wolfe about this and how we should tackle the release of Episode deuce of our web show that we have worked our asses off making for the last three years. The conversation was revelatory, and a few decisions were made:

No more chunks, parts, minisodes and whatnot. We have ALWAYS intended this show to be presented as TV-hour episodes. Had you watched episode 1 back-to-back it would have been so, alas, it was not presented as such. We ‘gonna fix that.

-EPISODE 2 will be presented in TWO PARTS ONLY, each will last around 22 minutes, in a sense still following the format of a TV-formatted time slot but in miniature form. They will be released 2-3 weeks apart from one another; we feel this is a better way to deliver this show rather than the 5 minutes a week alternative.

What does this mean? Until a few weeks ago we planned on releasing in 5 minute installments, now with this new plan, we have far more editing, sound, and picture work to do before we can release ‘The Dirty Do Gooders Episode 2 Part 1.

Why can’t I give a release date? More people than me are working on the post-side of this project, cutting, scoring, coloring, and compositing must still be done and since the people who accomplish this VOLUNTEER their time it can’t be treated as a solid deadline – yet. The only promise I’m willing to make is that we will have episode 2 part 1 ready and released as soon as it is finished.

YOU BASTARDS! APPEASE ME WITH REPARATION FOR THIS GREVIOUS ERROR IN JUDGEMENT!

Alright! I’m sorry! There are some cool things for you to consider while you wait-

-A overhauled website with easier controls for watching DDG content and discussing it via a more robust forum of interaction. Translation- New website, redesigned video player, new community page for DDG fans.

-Episode 1 will be recut into the part 1 – part 2 format and re-released! Expect some minor tweaks and a better viewing experience all hosted on this website! (no more YouTube tomfoolery!)

-A trailer for episode 2 in time for Halloween, scare your friends with a preview of our Ludacris show! (not a show about the rapper known as Ludacris, mind)

- A sneak peak of episode 2 (ooh sneak peak!) to be released sometime after the trailer.

I hope you guys are excited about the re-launch as I am, this show has been made possible by an amazing group of people that without- our show would never have had a chance. Trin Miller has joined the executive ranks to help the (many) shortcomings of Me and Ethan, she’s already done so much work for us she might as well be a producer too!

Thanks for sticking with us folks, keep na eye out for the TRAILER OF EPISODE 2! Out this Halloween!

Try Harder, Do Gooder.
